How to Get Started Posting your Résumé to Employ RI

Why should I create a Résumé in EmployRI?
To get interviews, which lead to job offers. Treat your job search like a full-time job. You will find your next job faster. Creating your résumé using the skills in EmployRI will help you match currently posted job openings. The more information you add into EmployRI, the more likely you will be successful in your job search. 

What information do I need to create a Résumé?

  • work history for at least the last three years,
  • highest education completed,
  • skills and achievements,
  • occupational licenses or certificates,
  • references
  • contact information

Where do I start?
Before you can post a résumé, you will need to register as a Job Seeker in EmployRI. Click here for instructions on how to register.

Once you've registered, you may want to first complete My Background details. The Résumé Builder will incorporate them so you won’t have to re-enter this information. When using the Résumé Builder, some steps will allow you to update your background information as it changes. Click Next between steps to proceed. Click Skip this Step if the step doesn’t apply to you. When choosing a template, you may preview it first to see the layout and section order. Click on the buttons below for detailed instructions on creating/importing a résumé to EmployRI.

I don't have a résumé. Where do I start?   I have a résumé in a Word or PDF file. How do I post it?

NOTE: If you’re an Unemployment Insurance claimant, the Call Center is automatically notified that you’ve met the requirement to post your résumé to EmployRI. The UI Call Center receives a list of résumés that have been posted each day. A Call Center Representative will contact the phone number on your claim to reopen your claim for benefits once you have posted a résumé. Please be aware that you do not need to contact the Call Center to reopen your claim for benefits.
